The Digital Foundation program is the perfect place for beginner artists unfamiliar with digital painting. The program provides in-depth lessons that familiarize students with the basics of Adobe Photoshop, while developing foundational painting skills that will enable them to create more complex work.

Experience the work of a professional concept artist by designing your original story and world, from characters to environments to props.

The Character Design program leads you step-by-step through the process of creating great characters. This includes learning about character expression and proportion, as well as the fundamentals of gesture drawing, anatomy, character personality, clothing and character angles and perspectives. Based on this learning, you will develop and complete a series of dynamic digital characters for animation, game design and digital comics.

Do you have an idea for a comic and want to see it come to life? In our Manga and Comics program, students develop their own comics while applying artistic and technical techniques used by professional comic artists. Weekly lectures teach fundamental skills including but not limited to character design, paneling, and camera angles.

Illustrators are storytellers, who communicate with an audience using their art. Ashcan’s Digital Illustration program is designed to provide students with the tools they need to become artists and storytellers. Students are introduced to various foundational skills and techniques, such as digital portrait and landscape painting. In addition, they learn different composition techniques used for effective storytelling.

PROGRAM COURSES

2D Animation is used in entertainment and informative venues such as Advertising, Mobile Device Games and Apps, Web Interface and Video, Education and Instructional Media. This course is an absolute beginner's entry point to learning the foundations of animation. It can be done with traditional animation or with cutting edge animation software. Students learn to convert their artistic abilities from basic to advanced level hand-drawn and digital animation skills using the latest industry-standard software.
