Prop Design encompasses vehicles, weapons, and architecture, and is incredibly valuable in immersing the audience in a story and world. Our course will introduce students to the basic design principles of different vehicles and weapons, before students move onto developing their own original designs.

Course Overview

 

Curriculum

Students begin the course studying the basic structures and design principles of architecture, vehicles, and props seen throughout history. Perspective is essential to understand for this course, and will be reviewed every class. In addition, students will learn to render and eventually design their own props.

Subjects include:

  • TECHNICAL PERSPECTIVE STUDY I

  • TECHNICAL PERSPECTIVE STUDY II

  • MECHANISM OF AIRCRAFT

  • MECHANISM OF WHEEL VEHICLE I

  • MECHANISM OF WHEEL VEHICLE II

  • MECHANISM OF SHIP

  • MECHANISM OF FIREARM

  • MECHANISM OF THE ANCIENT WEAPON

Schedule

All the courses are designed for students to be able to finish their courses in 7 classes.

One week (Aug 26th - Aug 29th) for make-up classes will be given after the regular 7-week summer schedule for students with excused absences by faculty members.
* All summer courses must be finished within 8 weeks by Aug 29th.
